I've discovered there is a 2nd seed, so have modified the little test script.
Also, the 'echo' was superfluous with set -x

Thanks for reporting the problem.
flam3-genome has a random element which probably explains the flakiness.
However, I have run it thousands of times on my x64 desktop with no segfaults,
and the issue does seem to be totally specific to ppc64el.
Maybe it is a problem with the compiler or the
