Bug#1003883: Tests aren't part of the package build

Hi, According to the documentation, these tests are meant to be run from Octave. I can try to run them as part of the package build, but is it really worth adding a build dependency like Octave just for tests? What about autopkgtest? Am I supposed to include the interface built specifically for
