This is related to this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427875 and also mentioned here: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/pp08tg/kde_forgetting_window_size_and_placement/ KDE does not remember window sizes for windows. Thus, when windows are re-opened, they always are reset to a default size which is usually very small and inconvenient because it is necessary to constantly be resizing windows.
