Hi, I encounterd the problem with the same origin perhaps.
I used to run fetchmail in daemon mode with keep option every 10 minutes
in a machine and call fetchmail manually late at night every day with nokeep
option in another main machine.
But recently, in main machine, I found that fetchmail

I call fetchmal every 10 minutes in my crontab as "fetchmail -a -s".
This used to work until the latest upgrade without problems (for
decades).
Since upgrading I get the error message:
