We have ended up with three versions of the clap crate in Debian.
I'd like to reduce that number. Ideally to only one, but reducing
it from three versions to two would be an improvement.

I'm looking at clap v3 first for a few reasons.

* it was only the "latest version" for less than a year.
* Less software in Debian seems to use v3 than v2.
* We are currently patching clap v3 to work with newer
versions of clap-lex, I'm not sure how sustainable
this is.

I looked at the upstream repo for aardvark-dons and they seem
to have updated to clap v4 in release 1.7.0, the fix also
doesn't look like it would be horrible to backport

Please consider moving to clap v4.
