we have the same problem, CB crashing much too often …
I found an upstream bug report with a recipe provoking crashes, and
indeed I was able to crash the program in gdb. I prepared Debian
Package: codeblocks
Version: 20.03+svn13046-0.1+b2
Severity: important

I installed codeblocks on two of my laptops after doing fresh installs with
Debian 12. On both systems I try to learn C++ using learncpp.com and writing
the code examples
