downgrading `optclient` to the bookworm version (which implies the installation
of libcotp12) fixes the problem for me.
(please note, that *new* OTP keys created in a newer version of otpclient need
to be discarded and created again)

OTPclient seems to be producing incorrect codes due to the update of libcotp to
2.1.0-1. See https://github.com/paolostivanin/OTPClient/issues/325. The debian
package needs to be rebuilt
