It seems at least a working patch for this problem was made 4 years ago,
but still no response from upstream.
Could we just patch the debian copy and distribute it anyway? 'F' that
works and 'G' that dies is better than neither working at all.
You can't simply ctrl-C less to tell it to cancel the watch loop, because
that kills the pipe writers too.
(I personally don't believe this is a wishlist bug; it should be upgraded
to 'normal' because less simply does not perform as advertised when
reading from pipes. Subjective call, I guess).
