I question whether debian bug #168966 is appropriately tagged with severity: minor. /etc/sudoers syntax is not for the faint of heart (q.v. sudoers(5)). And any sudoers file of even minor complexity can be challenging to debug if the reported line number of the error is wrong. I suggest that this bug is severity: normal at least.
visudo even re-points emacs ($EDITOR=emacs) to the line of the ostensible error, which is doubly misleading. Shouldn't this bug get forwarded upstream in the 6 years it's been open? --dkg
