Its not about clean, its about supporting and code duplication.
So the only solution is to switch to xrdp + vnc4server (that on lan is good
enough for my needs), or nomachine proprietary packages if I really want to
use nx (on low bandwidth links, nx is unbeatable).
This is sad, but there are no other alternatives.

I've searched a lot on the web, but there are no recent packages on the net.

Does freenx still ship it's own X libs? It would be nice to integrate the
funcionality in Xorg.
I've tried updating freenx in the past, and the experience was awful (and

There is still the problem with massively duplicated sourcecode which
prevents most people from build NX debian packages. NX will never be included
into Debian if its include sources of X,

I understand all the concerns about creating a clean package. But what about
a semi-ufficial package (maybe for experimental) until things will change?
As all of you already said on the pkg-nx-group
This is a ping to my WNPP bugs. I am still alive, but have been
recently been tasked with quite a bit of travel for work. My time to
work on these will be limited in the coming weeks, but I still plan on
getting to them.

Hi,
is someone again (or still?) working on the NX packages? It would be
really nice to have them in Debian for lenny.
If sponsorship is needed I could help, same goes for random packaging
questions, etc. but I don't intend to maintain the NX packages as I
already have enough to do with my other
Heya,
as I plan to use NX please let me know if there's anything I can help
with. Are your packages in alioth's svn?
Cheers,

I don't think anyone's working on them at the moment. But yes, they are

Not at the moment. I am currently in the thick of trying to help get
the new cyrus-sasl package in sufficiently good shape to meet the Etch

Hi everyone,
Since the NX packaging effort seems to have been stalled, I'd like to
volunteer to get NX into Debian. Everyone is invited to help, of
course. Please let me know if you're also working on packaging NX or
if you have any objections.

were offered early in the thread no longer exists.
If there are no objections, I will take over the ITP.
What is the state to get FreeNX in sid?

As there has not been any (visible) activity on this ITP, I'd like to ask
what's the current state of packaging? I know there are packages available
from other locations, but are there any plans to upload nx to debian?
