we got many error messages like this in the syslog of our amanda backup server when we mount shares of Windows2000 servers via smbfs. Then we got something arround 150 messages in one minute. We have 9 lines like this in our /etc/fstab: //mps-axaptadb.mps.gleich/D$ /mnt-backup-mps-axaptadb-D smbfs defaults,username=backup,password=xxxxx,lfs,gid=backup,dmask= 755 0 0 We have moved 18 GB of files up to 5 GB between these Shares, without data corruption. So it seems to me, that there is no problem exept this annoying messages. Can you please remove this messages, if you also think there is no real problem.
