Hi,
I experienced this bug also, with a 2.6.9 kernel and hotplug
0.0.20040329-17. I tried downgrading hotplug to no avail before
realising that /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug said /bin/true rather than
/sbin/hotplug or /sbin/udevsend. Running sysctl -w
kernel.hotplug=/sbin/hotplug set

In either case, can you also try with a 2.6.10 kernel instead of a 2.6.9 ?
Well, I've tried it now and it seems to work with 2.6.10 (firmware
loaded, iwconfig lists the eth2 interface, but I am not within reach
of any wifi network),
Package: ipw2200-source
Version: 1.0.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
I have been using ipw2200 for some time without problems. The only
change I know of is that last week, after an update, instead of wlan0
I had to use eth2 interface, but it was still working.
I
severity 298066 important

thanks
