Hi, I experienced this bug also, with a 2.6.9 kernel and hotplug 0.0.20040329-17. I tried downgrading hotplug to no avail before realising that /proc/sys/kernel/hotplug said /bin/true rather than /sbin/hotplug or /sbin/udevsend. Running sysctl -w kernel.hotplug=/sbin/hotplug set
