Purging configuration files for firestarter ... dpkg: error processing firestarter (--purge): subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: firestarter I was able to simply remove the package, however whenever I tried to purge it, I got the same error. I removed the /etc/dhclient-exit-hooks file, which only contained a reference to firestarter, and was then able to purge the package successfully.
