Package: postfix Version: 2.2.2-1 Severity: Important
When I attempt to send mail via smtp and authenticate via SASL, only LOGIN and PLAIN should be used (defined in /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf). Here is what I am using for smtpd.conf. # This sets smtpd to authenticate using the saslauthd daemon. pwcheck_method: saslauthd # This allows plain, login, cram-md5 and digest-md5 authentication mechanisms. mech_list: plain login But, I am unable to send mail and postfix is trying to use DIGEST-MD5 against the /etc/sasldb2 database instead of SASL. I have "smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous" in main.cf so LOGIN and PLAIN methods of authentication should be allowed. I have a feeling that the /etc/postfix/sasl/smptd.conf file is not being used with the new version of postfix. If I go back to postfix version 2.1.5-9, everything works as expected.
