Sarge is long released, and we are talking about releasing Etch. What about this bug?
As far as I'm concerned, it can be closed and marked as "Sarge-only": I use Etch for some time (still on the same PC with the same scanner[1]), and did no longer notice this problem. [1] Yes, I'm using it daily starting with Woody to Etch (through Woody with backports and then Sarge), and probably longer if it still works (and Debian release cycles do not grow exponentially).
