OK - I've been using x11vnc 0.7.3 ever since my last message, and I have
encountered none of the problems I was having before. I consider the
bug fixed by the newer version.

I'm seeing this as well - the command I'm using is
x11vnc -auth /var/lib/gdm/\:0.Xauth -cursor most -forever -shared
-display :0 -repeat
and the last part of the output is similar
