Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp Version: 2.6.8-16 Severity: normal Hello all,
This bug may be related to #323176 and/or #286609 - it's difficult to tell exactly, since they don't mention their hardware arrangements. The problem is that on upgrade from a 2.4 kernel to a 2.6 kernel (both stock Debian packages), all of our machines that use the DAC960 module stop producing entropy. Looking at the source for the DAC, I see that there are no calls at all to produce entropy, although there are in the 2.4 kernel tree. The only patch I see that addresses this issue is unfortunately several years old, and is out of date, but should be the right idea: http://lwn.net/Articles/9514/ (search for DAC - there's quite a few other changes as well).
