Package: courier-imap Version: 3.0.8-4sarge3 Severity: normal courier-imap seems to send DISCONNECTED messages to syslog with level LOG_ERR or higher. This seems to high to me; LOG_INFO would be more appropriate. Is it really an error when a user ends their session? :)
I noticed this when I told syslog to send everything of 'err' level or higher to /var/log/important, and had the file flooded with hundreds of these messages: Oct 10 20:17:06 wang imapd-ssl: DISCONNECTED, user=seth, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.1], headers=0, body=0, time=5629, starttls=1 Oct 10 20:25:19 wang imaplogin: DISCONNECTED, user=mail, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.1], headers=0, body=0, time=1632 -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.24-wang Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages courier-imap depends on: ii courier-authdaemon 0.47-4sarge3 Courier Mail Server - Authenticati ii courier-base 0.47-4sarge3 Courier Mail Server - Base system ii exim4-daemon-spf [mail-tran 4.50-8 custom exim MTA (v4) daemon with l ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libfam0c102 2.7.0-6 client library to control the FAM ii libgdbm3 1.8.3-2 GNU dbm database routines (runtime -- debconf information: courier-imap/moveconfig: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
