Package: devscripts
Version: 2.9.8
Severity: normal

Hi,

since svn r256, the patch from #234434 (archived) is basically removed,
resulting in "--edit" having the same effect as "--append" which was not
intended by the original author (and users, like me).

Please restore the initial functionality of the option (not generating a
new "*" line).

Thanks.

bye,
  Roland
