Package: xmoto Version: 0.1.7-0.etch1 Severity: normal Hi,
I am not a OpenGL aware guy so I won't comment on the fact that this 2D game consumes so much CPU cycles when playing. But, I don't understand why half my Pentium M 1.8Ghz is consumed when only the configuration menu is displayed and the mouse doesn't move or click. The more stuff are displayed (especially when choosing the level), the more the CPU is used. Displaying several static boxes and several dozens of static characters does not deserve so much CPU consumption, at least when the mouse does not click. This machine is running a 0.1.7 release compiled for testing, but I've seen the same problem on 0.1.8-2. Anyway, this game is great :) Regards, Brice Goglin -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-rc1 Locale: LANG=fr_FR, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages xmoto depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-2 GCC support library ii libjpeg62 6b-10 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii liblua50 5.0.2-5 Main interpreter library for the L ii liblualib50 5.0.2-5 Extension library for the Lua 5.0 ii libode0c2 1:0.5-5 Open Dynamics Engine - runtime lib ii libogg0 1.1.2-1 Ogg Bitstream Library ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-5 PNG library - runtime ii libsdl1.2debi 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libstdc++6 4.0.2-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libvorbis0a 1.1.0-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisfile 1.1.0-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii xlibmesa-gl [ 6.8.2.dfsg.1-7 Mesa 3D graphics library [X.Org] ii xmoto-data 0.1.7-0.etch1 2D motocross platform game xmoto recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
