Package: acpitool Version: 0.4.0-1 Severity: important
Hi, when I run acpitool, I get a "Segmentation Fault" : (gdb) run Starting program: /home/antoine/acpitool-0.4.0/src/acpitool Battery #2 : charged, 100.0% AC adapter : on-line Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x0804c63b in Do_Thermal_Info (show_trip=0, verbose=0) at fstream:498 498 this->setstate(ios_base::failbit); (gdb) where #0 0x0804c63b in Do_Thermal_Info (show_trip=0, verbose=0) at fstream:498 #1 0x0804e6dd in Print_ACPI_Info (show_ac=1, show_therm=1, show_trip=0, show_fan=0, show_batteries=1, show_empty=0, show_version=0, show_cpu=0, show_wake=0, e_set=0, info_level=0, verbose=0) at acpitool.cpp:80 #2 0x080497eb in main (argc=1, argv=0xbfc495f4) at main.cpp:190 I do not know C++ so I was not able to investigate more. I can say that this bug also occurs with the Debian kernel 2.6.14-2-686. The laptop is an HP/Compaq one : nx6110. the files /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ?/trip_points are readable. Finaly, I notice that this bug appears after a BIOS upgrade.
