Package: sawfish Version: 1:1.3+cvs20050709-4 Severity: important After many times having my display locked (only the mouse cursor moves) I found every time sawfish was stopped in a read(5,...). More stracing showed that file descriptor 5 is, at that point, a socket opened with esd sound daemon. Killing sawfish makes gnome-session spawns another instance of it, and that instance stops at the very same point.
Workaround is disable event sounds. Killing esd does not solve the problem, either. I suspect esd locks and the socket buffer fills up after a few sound events played.
