I'm experiencing the same bug, and after some investigation, it seems the hang
happens when evolution tries to show a mail.
After moving the .evolution folder, it started normally, and downloaded
normally mails from the server, but as soon as I click on one of these mails to
view it, evo

Basically, one of my email accounts is set to an IMAP server with the

I see this as well in evolution 2.4.2.1-1. For me, moving .evolution
away made it work again once, but now it doesn't. I've downgraded to
evolution 2.2.3-5 and that seems to work again. Here's some debugging
