this problem still occurs on my notebook - a Sarge system with kernel
2.6.15 (linux-2.6 Version 2.6.15-3 recompiled on Sarge) and a udev
backport (0.084-2bpo1), which is derived from udev 0.084-3.
Both of the following lines work:

Since upgrading to this udev I have trouble with a compact flash card in
a PCMCIA adapter. When I insert the card, the kernel scans it and then
prints the partition list non-stop.
