I also have this problem. FWIW, whenever I run k3bsetup I get multiple
copies of
Mar 5 09:00:10 localhost k3b: resmgr: communication failure: No such file
or directory
in my syslog. I don't have resmgr installed-- nor do I want to install and
configure it, unless I really have to.

See attached screen shot. That's the window that comes up, either when I run
k3bsetup directly from the command line or from within k3b. Both times, the
window just presents a few buttons, but nothing useful.
