Package: fvwm Version: 1:2.5.16-2 Severity: normal Fvwm causes a second synthetic ConfigureNotify event to be sent when starting up an application, and probably also when popping up a window (I can't test the latter with xev). This (I believe) causes a flicker when popping up windows in some applications (e.g., xdvi (Xaw) and acroread (gtk), the print popups in both cases). I do know that the print popup in xdvi receives two sets of expose events when it first pops up instead of one.
To test this: run xev. With other window managers (e.g., twm or icewm) there are two ConfigureNotify events when the window first appears, one non-synthetic and the other synthetic. With fvwm there is a third ConfigureNotify event.
