Package: freebsd-manpages
Version: 6.0-5
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

currently, freebsd-manpages conflicts against packages more or less
needed/wanted on linux-systems, like fdutils (and thus bootcd, etc.)
or linux-manual-*.
Therefor, there is currently no way to keep installed both, freebsd-
as well as linux-kernel-related manpages.

However, I could imagine at least two kinds of users who did like to
have installed both: users running linux only but having some interest
in freebsd (like me) and users who like to keep both systems in parallel
because of a dual-boot-scenario.

There are currently no conflicts between linux- and freebse-kernel
except the ones of the manual pages. Thus, conflicting here is probably
not the best idea all over.
Perhaps a better solution could be to separate the manpages by their
man section, i.e. [249]f for freebsd and [249]l for linux or something
like that.

Thanks for your work & regards
