Package: fglrx-kernel-src
Version: 8.24.8-1
Followup-For: Bug #373620

My kernel panics when I start X with fglrx-kernel installed (built from
fglrx-kernel-src with module-assistant) on an Intel system with an ATI
Radeon X800 graphics card as well.

I believe the initialization order is significant. When I uninstall
fglrx-kernel and start X, it works fine but without hardware
acceleration (fglrxinfo reports "Mesa GLX Indirect"). If I subsequently
reinstall the fglrx-kernel and restart X, hardware acceleration works
(fglrxinfo reports "Radeon X800 GTO Generic") and there is no kernel
panic.

After next reboot the kernel will panic again when X is started. But I
can get it to work with the following sequence:

* move fglrx.ko out of /lib/modules
* depmod
* start X
* stop X
* restore fglrx.ko
* depmod
* startx
