More misunderstandings below...
I agree that the documentation could use an update. A patch relative
to the current svn (svn://svn.debian.org/pkg-sysvinit/sysvinit/trunk)
is most welcome.
As for solving the ordering bug, I suspect we need to convert to using
dependency based ordering to fix

I had to read the init.d/rc script to make sure that
Knn* are _not_ called in reversed sort order. In facts,
the docs don't say it. Giving a single NN argument should
be deprecated. More misunderstandings below...
