Package: xfig
Version: 1:3.2.5-alpha5-9
Followup-For: Bug #384346

Hi,

I think I have the same problem as you:

$ xfig fig/framework.fig
Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-times-bold-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-bold-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*,-*-*-*-r-*--16-*-*-*-*-*-*-*"
 to type FontSet

but your cure (reinstall gsfonts-x11, update xorg.conf) did not work for me.

I found the following page usefull:
http://www.theeggeadventure.com/wikimedia/index.php/Linux_Tips

where command line "LANG=en_US.iso88591 xfig fig/framework.fig" does not
complain about fonts anymore.

So it seems that the problem boils down for the fonts to be "UTF-8 encoded",
whatever it means.

I would be greatful for any hints on how to solve this for at least times
family in UTF-8 setting.
