I am not sure if I understand the problem you are reporting. If you want to include a Jar on your classpath you must user the filename of the Jar itself, not just the owning directory, e.g. java -cp /usr/share/java/foo.jar your.package.YourClassName Please can you give me some examples of failing Java source and command line invocation?
