I don't think this issue can be in apt-setup as apt-setup does not use
wget (except if the local generator is used, which AFAICT was not the
case here). More likely the hang was in choose-mirror.
wget by default has a 900 second read timeout.

I checked on second console, the hanging process was wget morror-address
