Package: cupsys Version: 1.2.7-1 Severity: normal I just upgraded from Sarge to Etch, moving from cupsys 1.1.23-10sarge1 to 1.2.7-1 in the process.
I noticed that the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf distributed with 1.2.7-1 no longer includes a Printcap line, and thus CUPS is now putting the printcap file in its default location of /etc/printcap. (The Sarge file includes the line Printcap /var/run/cups/printcap in the distributed cupsd.conf file.) I saw in the changelog.Debian.gz entry from 10 May 2003 that this file was specifically moved to /var/run/cups/printcap in response to bug #187954, but wasn't able to find any changelog.Debian or NEWS.Debian entries mentioning that it was moved back. If the Printcap line was left out of the config file on purpose, it would be helpful to have the reasons for the move explained somewhere. If it wasn't left out on purpose, should the line be added back in? Thanks. Nathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
