Hi,
I also noticed a large delay in the boot sequence when chrony is starting
up. Maybe we're talking about different bugs, but in my case the problem
is simply caused by the command
| route 2/dev/null | grep -q default /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/chrony /dev/null ||
true
in chrony's initscript. With

With a full routing table it takes quite a while to list all routes
I'm surprised that the default Chrony installatio is being used on machines
with such large tables.
Maybe adding -n and grepping for 0.0.0.0 will speed up the process a
bit (by avoiding DNS lookups)
