Package: debian-installer Severity: normal I was today trying to install etch from debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso dated 2007-02-26. Unfortunately, I chose a partially desynced mirror (ftp.de.d.o), and the installer failed on me silently.
After choosing "install software" and completing tasksel, the installer stopped with a progress bar stalling at 5 % and hanging there. Inspecting the process list showed an idle aptitude process. I guess that the aptitude was hanging at the prompt "Untrusted packages could compromise your system's security". The installer should check and catch this condition and not hang indefinetely.
