Hello I have the same problem and the workaround from #420177 doesn't work :
# gcc -shared -o nvidia_drv.so nvidia_drv.o/usr/bin/ld: nvidia_drv.o: relocation R_X86_64_32S against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
