I'm seeing this issue 100% reproducible as well, and for me removing libc6-i686 _does_ fix input handling. I'm only seeing it on my i386 laptop, not on my amd64 desktop. $ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 15 model : 2 model name
