You're using the binary nvidia driver, it's not clear whether the bug
comes from this driver or from the X server. Could you try with the free
nv driver (install package xserver-xorg-video-nv and change nvidia to nv
in section Device in /etc/X11/xorg.conf). It the problems disappears,
