Package: stalonetray Version: 0.7-1 Severity: important I use backported stalonetray on etch (i.e I "apt-get source stalonetray" to get sources from sid, and build/install it on etch system).
With version 0.7 of stalonetray I've got following problem: with some applications (for example, with xxkb) stalonetray and X server use a lot of CPU. The head of top: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3034 root 25 0 567m 172m 4720 R 44.8 11.3 1555:12 Xorg 25526 sasha 15 0 2996 1264 960 S 21.2 0.1 1:06.81 stalonetray .xsession-errors content: 21:27:35 [3] tray_update_window_size(): proposed new window size: 72x48 (old: 72x48) 21:27:35 [3] tray_update_window_size(): proposed new window size: 72x48 (old: 72x48) 21:27:35 [3] tray_update_window_size(): proposed new window size: 72x48 (old: 72x48) 21:27:35 [3] tray_update_window_size(): proposed new window size: 72x48 (old: 72x48) 21:27:35 [3] tray_update_window_size(): proposed new window size: 72x48 (old: 72x48) .... <a LOT of the same messages> Killing the stalonetray or just xxkb fixes the problem -- Xorg CPU usage becomes normal. Please note, that the problem is not in xxkb -- I have some home-made applications with similar behaviour; xxkb does not have any problems when working without tray of with the older stalonetray (0.6.5). If the problem does not exist with lenny Xserver/Xlibs, feel free to close this bug.
