Then, I did the same on home computer, and again XMPP to GTalk resumed
to work... No idea what going on.
Consider to close the bug.

During subsequent checks, I found that pidgin always fails to connect
GTalk XMPP server with message Read Error if the internet line is
slow (as if I upload something over ADSL).
If I stop uploading, pidgin connects without a hitch. Are there
special timing requirements for XMPP to work?

with errors either Read Error or SSL Handshake failed. Find below
