Could be related to #420840, where the driver detects a wrong Panel size
and thus refuses larger resolutions. Please add
Option "ModeDebug" "yes"
to section Device of your xorg.conf, remove the "Modes" lines,
"PreferredMode" and "Modeline" and send the new log with
xserver-xorg-core 1.4 and video-intel 2:2.1.1-4.
