When gnome-mount reads extra parameters it's simply don't read
default_options from hal, version 0.7 still affects this bug.
For work-around - launch gconf-editor, select
system/storage/default_options/vfat/, open key 'mount_options'

I tried to use gnome-mount to mount a my usb-flash (vfat partition volume).
So default vfat mount options are defined in gconf to 'shortname=lower,uid='
It's great, but I wan't to add flush
