Bug#457750: pppstatus: Doesn't create log file

pppstatus doesn't create a log file, if there is .pppstatus but empty existing. I can't reproduce this. Can you give me more information? Do you realize that /var/log/pppstatus/ is only used when pppstatus is run by root and that ~/.pppstatus/ is a directory where the log is written for
