Well yeah close it. I solved it by writing something myself ("grabby" and
its successor "koudevoeten").

Are you able to reproduce this? Can you try to run it with valgrind,
to see why it crashes? Does the patch proposed in
http://bugs.debian.org/366987> solve the problem?
