Just so you know, I had tried the current package in Ubuntu and it still works properly. If you're talking about http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11124868/buildlog_ubuntu-hardy-i386.ogre-contrib_1.4.5-1_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz or any of the build failures for Ubuntu, they've have failed before with the same error. It seems to me the build systems are setup where they lack a way to download anything from an external source.
