I have packaged 0.5 version as a NMU against Sid.
I have written an email to the package maintainer about it.
.dsc .chages and diff.gz are attached to the launchpad bug here:

The package
Ubuntu has version 0.5 and the Ubuntu package works fine on Debian.
I suspect that this bug could be resolved by simply duploading the
Ubuntu version into Debian.
