I'm afraid it's a bit hard, because I just call index++ with all the
paths, and it's index++ the one that gives you that error...
The only thing you can do is collecting all the PS and PDF files in your
system ("grep -i format:\ p /var/lib/doc-base/documents/*" will give you the
files that contain such documents), and calling index++ for each one of them,
like this:
index++ -c /usr/share/dhelp/swish++.conf <path>
