Package: liblog4cxx9-dev Version: 0.9.7-6 Those wanting to use libtool to link any application with Log4CXX need /usr/lib/libxml2.la provided by the package "libxml2-dev". So liblog4cxx9-dev should "depends" on libxml2-dev.
I state "depends" instead of "recommends" or below because as soon as libtool find liblog4cxx.la (and this file is indeed in "liblog4cxx9-dev"), libtool will use it, even if one try linking directly with the shared library liblog4cxx.so without mentioning the "la" file.
