I couldn't find a slurm user and i didn't have /etc/slurm-llnl folder.
using synaptic i did "Mark for complete removal" after that i selected
install.
and it installed without a hitch. so it worked.

Are you installing or upgrading?

Thanks for reporting this. I noticed a similar problem in upgrades and
emailed it to Gennaro who should under normal circumstances be reporting back
in a day or two.
