Package: tsocks Version: 1.8beta5-9 Severity: important Tags: patch The attached dpatch enables libtsocks to read the TSOCKS_SERVER and TSOCKS_SERVER_PORT environment variables, and adds command-line arguments --server and --server-port to /usr/bin/tsocks.
Motivation: users can only configure tsocks via configuration files. This is too inflexible. Sometimes multiple SOCKS servers are available (e.g. from ssh -D sessions) and I need to decide on the fly which server to use when socksify-ing a command (using tsocks). Creating multiple configuration files was the only (ugly) work-around. (Note: I created this patch on an Ubuntu system, but against the latest tsocks source package obtained from Debian.) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers hardy-updates APT policy: (500, 'hardy-updates'), (500, 'hardy-security'), (500, 'hardy-backports'), (500, 'hardy') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-16-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages tsocks depends on: ii libc6 2.7-10ubuntu3 GNU C Library: Shared libraries tsocks recommends no packages. -- no debconf information ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
